The Farm
EARL Arc en
Ciel is a biodynamic dairy farm situated in the north west of France.
Willem-Jan and Marieke de Kam, the farmers, bought the farm in 1995 and changed
it from conventional into organic and since 2015 the farm is Demeter certified.
The farm has about 80 hectares of land, which is primarily used as pastures and for growing fodder for the cows. There is a little cheesery on the farm where the milk is made into Gouda cheese. The farm also has a small camping site where people from all over the world can find a peaceful place to spend their summer holidays.
Marieke and Willem-Jan de Kam are of Dutch origin. In 1985 they both graduated from Warmonderhof - a biodynamic farming school in the Netherlands. Before starting their own farm in France in 1995, they worked on different farms in both the Netherlands and in Germany. Willem-Jan and Marieke are excited to use the farm as a space where people can get inspired and feel connected with what is around them.
